Welcome to Studio Miau, thank you for entrusting your pet with us. The following are some everyday policies to ensure a positive and safe grooming experience for you, your pet and our staff. By booking an appointment with us, it is deemed that you have read through the terms & conditions and given us your consent.
Information Disclosure and Social Media
For your first visit to Studio Miau, you are required to fill up the registration form with your personal and cat’s information. This information will allow Studio Miau to service you and your cat better and provide our groomers with the necessary information they require prior to your cat’s grooming session. All information provided to us is certified to be true and accurate by you and is valid for all visits. It is your responsibility to update Studio Miau with regards to any changes to your cat’s health and information.
Studio Miau may take photos and/or videos of your cat during the grooming appointment. You consent to Studio Miau for using photos and/or videos of your pet for marketing and promotional purposes, including but not limited to, use on the website or social media sites. You may specify under the Remarks column in the registration form if you do not want your cats’ images/videos to be used by Studio Miau for any forms of social media and marketing purposes.
Health
Grooming can be stressful to some cats, so you will inform Studio Miau if your cat has any medical conditions or stress prior to grooming. You understand that it is necessary to have your cat up to date on all vaccinations, parasite treatments and medications prior to every grooming session, and Studio Miau is not liable for potential infections and diseases contracted.
You understand that there can be rare unforeseen complications during grooming including allergic reactions, clipper rash, minor cuts and nicks, panic attacks, aggression requiring the usage of a cone, and nail bleeds and Studio Miau will do everything we can to avoid these issues. You understand that accidents do happen in grooming and you will not hold Studio Miau or any of its employees responsible for accident or injury to their cat.
If you suspect your cat has fleas, ticks, lice or any other infectious disease, or if your cat is currently being treated for an infectious disease, you agree to notify Studio Miau and reschedule your cat’s grooming appointment at such time your cat has been cleared by a vet. Studio Miau will require written proof from your Vet that your cat is free from infection. There will be a $50 clean down surcharge if Studio Miau notices your cat has fleas onsite to prevent any further contamination of other cats within the premises.
In the event of an emergency, you authorise Studio Miau and its staff to immediately seek professional veterinarian attention for your cat at your expenses. You understand that all attempts will be made to contact you in the event of an emergency.
Charges & Payments
The cost of a groom has many variables and can be different from cat to cat and even groom to groom. You understand that the price of a groom is worked out once your cat has been physically assessed and the price is dependent on the condition of the coat, length of the coat, amount of knots and mats, the grooming style wanted, and the behaviour of your cat.
It is your responsibility to ask for a quote before the groom begins; by handing the animal over, even without asking for the price, you are consenting to the price of the groom. You understand that you will not receive a refund if you are unhappy due to expectations that differ from reality. You agree to pay the balance in full at the time of collection of your cat.
Appointment & Cancellation Policy
To reschedule, modify and/or cancel any appointments, you must notify Studio Miau at least 1 day in advance, subject to availability of the shop. Last-minute cancellations/no show will be subject to a non-refundable deposit of $10 upon the next appointment.
You understand that the time required for your cat’s groom may vary according to your cat’s behaviour, and Studio Miau will not be responsible for any inconvenience or delays caused under any circumstances.
Studio Miau reserves the right to forfeit an appointment without prior notice if you do not arrive within 30 minutes of the scheduled appointment. You will be notified at least 30 minutes in advance to pick up your cat. In the event that your cat is not picked up by the end of the shop’s operating hours, there will be a $30 surcharge per hour.
You agree that if you have any issues with the groom your cat receives, you will address this while on Studio Miau premises as amendments to the groom will not be made once the cat has left. You understand that you are able to request for the same groomer your cat has, however this is subjected to the groomer’s availability.
Transportation
We provide islandwide transportation for your cat. You understand that the rate provided is only valid for 2 cats and there will be a $5 top up for every additional cat. Our driver will inform you when they are arriving so please ensure that you have your cat ready in your own carrier to reduce time delay for the next pick up. We can provide carriers upon your request.
The pick up timing is between 10am-11am and drop off timing is between 5pm-7pm depending on the day and traffic. You understand that the timing is fixed and you must have someone available at home to receive your cat.
Refusal of Service
Studio Miau reserves the right to alter or cease any groom in the event that we determine it is in your cat’s best interest. This includes, but not limited to:
- Overly aggressive/stressed cats
- Severely infested cats with/without potential to infect other cats
- Verbally or physically abusive customers
- Customers who have repeatedly refused to pay for services
